🍦 Carmel – Drew’s Pheno #2 Cream n Tina
Carmel’s one of the best-loved in Ontario. Their cut of Animal Face has earned a spot in the pantheon of Canadian legal bud.. our last batch came in at 29% with 4% terps. Master Grower Drew has a focus on unique phenos and great taste. They understand the market’s love for high THC but never sacrifice overall quality or the priority on terps. Now they have started the Drew’s Pheno series, showcasing the best finds as he scours the country for new genetics.
First was Peanut Butter Rockstar grown by Magi Cannabis, but today we’re smoking Cream n Tina, produced by Noble and bred by Exotic Genetix. That last bit first got my attention as Exotic fully lives up to their name. Tina × Cookies and Cream. You can find heavier Starfighter genetics on both sides, with the first gaining nuance from multiple orange-y strains, while the second is predictably from the cookies fam.
Opening the bag, I was immediately pumped. Rock hard nugs with the gorgeous trich coverage I expect of Carmel. At 3.16% terps, it’s a creamy tropical delight recalling Grandma’s ambrosia salad. It has cherry undertones from the farnesene while the deeper notes help round it out. There is little diesel from the caryophyllene, but it mainly shows its sweeter side. When smoked, the fruity notes leave and you are just left with comforting milk and honey. Sweet creaminess, pure and simple. The smoke is thick and smooth, letting you rip massive clouds you can be proud of.
The high is precisely what so many ask for. It’s warm and cozy, perfect after-work weed. There’s no immediate kapow as the THC creeps, but soon you’re drooling. I found myself unable to follow TV. It ended up being a night for music. I was wavy and tension-free, minus all intrusive thoughts. The crash eventually came but with the perfect timing to still give a couple of hours of lively jamming without switching to sleepier bud before bed. As for overall strength, it stays in line with its THC, which is definitely on the stronger end at 27%.
Drew’s done it again. First, lending his name to their cut of Dark Helmet, it’s a tag that’s earned weight. A guarantee of high-quality bud with a focus on terps. 🍰🍼🥰🛋️🧡
